NEWSLETTER AUGUST 2016

Here is an update on the state of the affairs.

1. MEMBERSHIP
The office have at last completed the mammoth task of sorting the members’ names into the categories of membership. Members will in the course of the week get a courtesy email to advise them into which category of membership they now fall, in light of the changes to our Constitution.

Thereafter we will send out notices for meetings in all 9 Provinces.

2. GAUTENG & WESTERN CAPE SHOWS
From all reports, the Jacaranda Gauteng Championship show was a huge success. Many thanks to Mr Rootman and his colleagues for organising it. Also thank you to everyone who supported the show, competitors and spectators alike. If you have any great photos from this event, please do feel free to share them on our Facebook page  @ArabHorseSocietySA.

Don’t forget, the closing date for entries to the Western Cape Arabian Championship is TOMORROW, 30 August 2016. All forms should be e-mailed to Jaco le Roux on western.cape@arabhorse.co.za or faxed to 023 004 0847.

3. CEM
A motion needs to be tabled at our next AGM in this regard as this continues to have an alarming effect on registrations with the Society, and will have serious consequences on the stud breeding of Arabians for the foreseeable future.

4. STUD BOOK / ARC
We have asked Pierre van Rooyen to detail where Stud Book is with the ARC court case. At the Stud Book Special General meeting Pierre spoke of settlement which we as the Arab Horse Society asked to have the detail of such settlement explained to us. The detail was refused.

I am personally worried about this court case as the quantum that the ARC seeks from Stud Book will undoubtedly bankrupt Stud Book and have serious consequences for the Breed Societies affiliated with Stud Book.

We have written to Pierre and asked him for details herein and will inform you the members of the outcome once and if we get an answer from Pierre.

5. SECRETARIES
I hope you have found that all is running smoothly with the office after the changeover. And in case you need to contact either Marike Simkin or Daleen du Preez, here is the list of the duties for which they are responsible:

6. WEBSITE

NUUSBRIEF Augustus 2016

3. CEM

Vriendelike Groete
