The President has responded to an open letter which was posted on the Society’s Facebook page yesterday by Mr Jaco Koen, calling for Mr Hayes to resign after he heard that the 2016 Nationals were being postponed, as constitutionally they must coincide with the AGM.
In his letter the President explains the reasons for the postponement in fuller detail, and outlines the many benefits he has brought to the Society during his term so far. He also gives an update on where the Society stands with regard to the interim administrative period:
“Following the meeting with the Registrar of Livestock, Council was disbanded as instructed, and we have been working on the motions about the amendments to the Constitution. The motions are now being finalised by the Society secretariat, who returned to work on the 18th of January after the Christmas break. A notice about the Special General Meeting will be issued within the next week.”
